Driver's License Renewals
Drivers who are 75 years old or older must renew their licenses yearly, all others renew either every 4 or 8 years. No documents other than the driver's license due to expire need to be presented for renewal.   If driver has a change of address, proof of new address is not required.  A temporary paper license is issued until the new one is mailed to the applicant within 45 days.  If a person has a name change, appropriate documents must be submitted i.e., court order for name change, marriage certificate, divorce decree.  The social security card for the applicant must be changed prior to going to MVD to obtain a new driver's license and must be presented at the time of the request.  The social security card must match the name on the driver's license or the system will reject the renewal. .
